3les war Sekretär; Kykneas war Vorsteher. Folgendes hat die Entwurfs-Kommission ent-
4worfen: dass den beiden Göttinnen als Erstlingsgabe von der Ernte darbringen nach der Tradition und
5dem Orakelspruch von Delphi die Athener von je hundert Medimnen
6Gerste nicht weniger als einen hekteus (Sechstel), von jeweils hundert Medimnen Weizen
7nicht weniger als einen halben hekteus (Zwölftel); dass, wenn jemand mehr erntet als dies
8oder weniger, er im entsprechenden Verhältnis die Erstlingsgabe darbringe; dass (sie) einsammeln die
9Demarchen Demos für Demos und abgeben an die Tempelpfleger
10von Eleusis in Eleusis; dass man drei Silos baue in Eleusis
11in tradioneller Weise, wo es den Tempelpflegern und dem Bausachverständigen
12am geeignetsten scheint, vom Geld der beiden Göttinnen; dass sie die
13Ernte dort einlagern, die sie von den Demarchen übernommen haben;
14dass entsprechend auch die Bündner die Erstlingsgabe darbringen; dass die Städte Einsamm-
15ler der Ernte wählen, wie nach ihrer Meinung die Ernte am besten
16eingesammelt wird. Ist sie eingesammelt, sollen sie sie nach Athen schicken;
17dass die Überbringer sie abliefern an die Tempelpfleger von Eleu-
18sis nach Eleusis. Wenn sie sie nicht in Empfang nehmen binnen fünf Tagen, 
19nachdem sie angemeldet wurde, obwohl abgeliefert haben die aus der Stadt, aus der
20die Ernte stammt, sollen die Tempelpfleger bestraft werden mit tausend Drachmen ein
21jeder. Und dass auch von den Demarchen sie entsprechend in Empfang genommen wird. Herol-
22de soll der Rat wählen und zu den Städten entsenden, die bekanntgeben, was
23jetzt vom Volk beschlossen wurde; diesmal so rasch als möglich, in Zu-
24kunft so, wie er es für richtig befindet. Auffordern soll auch der Hierophant und der
25Daduchos bei den Mysterien die Griechen, von der Ernste die Erstlingsgabe darzubringen
26nach der Tradition und dem Orakelspruch aus Delphi. Wenn sie aufgeschrieben haben auf
27einer Tafel die Menge (abgelieferten) der Ernte von den Demarchoi nach den einzelnen
28Demen, und von den Städten nach den einzelnen Städten,
29sollen sie (die Tempelpfleger) sie aufstellen im Eleusinion in Eleusis und in dem Prytanei-
30on. Dass der Rat vermelde auch den übrigen Städten, den grie-
31chischen insgesamt, soweit es ihm möglich scheint, mit dem Bericht,
32wie die Athener die Erstlingsgabe darbringen und die Bündner; dabei jenen
33nicht vorschreibend, sondern auffordernd, Erstlingsgaben darzubringen, wenn sie wollen,
34gemäß der Tradition und dem Orakelspruch aus Delphi. Dass in Empfang nehmen
35auch von diesen Städten, wenn eine darbringt, die Tempelpfleger in
36derselben Weise; dass man vom Opferkuchen opfere, wie es die Eumolpiden be-
37stimmen, ferner ein Dreifachopfer mit goldgehörntem Stier am Beginn für jede der beiden Göttinnen
38von (dem Erlös aus) Gerste und Weizen, und dem Triptolemos, dem Gott (= Pluton)
39und der Göttin (= Persephone) und dem Eubulos, jedem ein ausgewachsenes Opfertier und
40der Athena ein goldgehörntes Rind; dass den Rest von Gerste und Weizen
41die Tempelpfleger verkaufen zusammen mit dem Rat und (davon) Weihgeschenke aufstel-
42len für die beiden Göttinen, dabei verfahrend, wie es das Volk der Athener für gut befindet,
43und aufschreiben auf die Weihgeschenke, dass es von der Erstlingsgabe der Ernte
44geweiht wurde und von den Griechen, die die Erstlingsgabe darbrachten. Denen, die so handeln,
45soll viel Gutes zuteil werden und gute Ernte und reichliche Ernte, sofern sie
46nicht Unrecht tun den Athenern oder der Stadt oder den beiden Göttinnen. 
47Lampon stellte den Antrag: das andere, wie im Entwurfs über die Erstlingsgabe von der
48Ernte an die beiden Göttinnen, aber: Den Entwurf und diesen Beschluss soll auf-
49zeichnen der Sekretär des Rates auf zwei steinernen Stelen
50und aufstellen die eine in Eleusis im Heiligtum, die andere auf
51der (Akro)polis. Die Poleten sollen die beiden Stelen in Auftrag geben. Die Kassen-
52beamten sollen das Geld geben. Dass diese (Bestimmungen) über die Erstlingsgabe von der Ernte
53an die beiden Göttinnen auf den beiden Stelen aufzeichne (und) den Monat einschalte
54der nächste Archon; dass der (Archon) basileus abgrenze die Heiligtümer im
55Pelargikon, und künftig man keine Altäre mehr errichte in dem Pelar-
56gikon ohne Rat und Volk, keine Steine mehr breche aus dem
57Pelargikon, weder Erde hinausschaffe noch Steine. Wenn jemand übertritt
58eine dieser (Bestimmungen), soll er als Buße zahlen fünfhundert Drachmen; anzeigen soll
59(ihn) der basileus beim Rat. Bezüglich der Erstlingsgabe von (Oliven-)Öl soll Lampon einen
60Entwurf machen und dem Rat in der neunten Prytanie des Rats vorlegen.
61Der Rat soll ihn vor das Volk einführen unmittelbar darauf.

4the Athenians shall give first-fruits of the harvest to the two Goddesses according to ancestral custom and the
5oracle from Delphi, at a rate of not less than a sixth of a medimnos per hundred
6medimnoi of barley and not less than half a sixth per hundred
7medimnoi of wheat; and if someone produces a greater harvest than this,
8or a smaller, he shall give first-fruits at the same ratio; and the demarchs shall collect
9the first-fruits by demes and hand them over to the sacred officials
10from Eleusis at Eleusis; and they shall build three granaries at Eleusis,
11according to ancestral custom, wherever seems to the sacred officials and the architect
12to be suitable, from the money of the two Goddesses; and
13they shall deposit there the crops that they receive from the demarchs;
14and the allies too shall contribute first-fruits in the same way; and the cities shall choose
15collectors of the crops in whatever way it seems to them that the crops will be best
16collected; and when they have been collected they shall send them to Athens;
17and those who bring them shall hand them over to the sacred officials from Eleusis
18at Eleusis; and if they do not accept them within five days
19from when they have been announced, although the men from the city from which the crops
20come are handing them over, the sacred officials shall be fined 1,000 drachmas
21each; and they shall accept them from the demarchs according to the same conditions;
22and the Council shall choose heralds and send them to the cities announcing
23what has been voted by the People, as soon as possible for now, and in future
24whenever the Council decides; and the hierophant and the dadouch
25shall encourage the Greeks at the Mysteries to give first-fruits of the harvest according to
26ancestral custom and the oracle from Delphi; and when they have written up on
27a board the amount of the crops received from the demarchs, deme
28by deme, and from the cities, city by city,
29they shall place it in the Eleusinion at Eleusis and in the Council chamber;
30and the Council shall announce to all the other
31Greek cities, wherever it decides this to be possible, telling them
32the arrangements under which the Athenians and the allies give first-fruits,
33and not commanding them but encouraging them, if they wish, to give first-fruits
34according to ancestral custom and the oracle from Delphi; and the sacred officials
35shall accept crops from these cities in the same way if any city
36brings them; and they shall sacrifice from the cake as the Eumolpidai
37expound, and a triple sacrifice led by a bovine with gilded horns to each of the two goddesses
38from the barley and the wheat, and to Triptolemos and to the god
39and the goddess and to Euboulos, a full-grown victim to each, and
40to Athena a bovine with gilded horns; and the sacred officials with the
41Council shall sell the rest of the barley and wheat and dedicate dedications
42to the two Goddesses, doing whatever the Athenian People decides,
43and shall write on the dedications that these dedications were made from the first-fruits of the
44harvest, and that the Greeks were offering first-fruits; and to those who do this
45may much good come, and good and plentiful harvests, as long as they do no wrong to
46the Athenians or to the city of the Athenians or to the two Goddesses.
47Lampon proposed: in other respects in accordance with the draft about the first-fruits of
48the harvest for the two Goddesses; but the secretary of the Council shall inscribe
49the draft and this decree on two stone stelai,
50and shall place one at Eleusis in the sanctuary, and the other on
51the Acropolis; and the official sellers shall put the two stelai out to tender; and the
52kolakretai shall give the money; and they shall inscribe these things about the first-fruits
53of the harvest for the two Goddesses on the two stelai; and the new archon shall insert a
54month Hekatombaion; and the king shall define the boundaries of the sanctuaries in
55the Pelargikon, and for the future no altar shall be set up in the Pelargikon without
56permission of the Council and People, nor shall anyone cut stones from the
57Pelargikon, nor take away earth or stones; and if anyone contravenes
58any of these things, he shall pay 500 drachmas; and the king
59shall report it to the Council; and on the matter of the first-fruits of oil,
60Lampon shall make a draft and show it to the Council in the ninth prytany;
61and the Council shall be obliged to bring it before the People.
