2und opfert. An Ehrengaben nimmt er Haut und Schenkel. - An demselben
3Tag: der Rhea ein trächtiges Schaf und Opfer derart, wie im Pedageitnyos
4vorgeschrieben; hiervon ist keine Fortnahme (erlaubt). Es opfert der Priester und bereitet die Opfer.
5An Ehrengaben nimmt er die Haut. - Am zehnten: der Hera Argeia Heleia Basileia eine
6ausgesuchte junge Kuh. Ausgesucht werde eine, die für nicht weniger als fünfzg Drachmen
7gekauft wurde. Es opfert der Priester und bereitet die Opfer. An Ehrengaben nimmt er
8Haut und Schenkel. Von dieser (Kuh) ist Fortnahme (erlaubt). Die Wickel(opfer) werden eingewickelt, und
9geopfert werden auf dem Herdfeuer in dem Tempel die Wickel(opfer) und ein Kuchen aus einem halben hekteus
10Weizen. Hiervon ist keine Mitnahme aus dem Tempel (erlaubt). - Am elften: dem Zeus
11Machaneus wird ein Rind ausgesucht in jedem zweiten Jahr, wenn die Karneen(-Opfer) stattfinden, so
12wie es auch im Batromios für Zeus Polieus ausgesucht wird, und zuvor wird ein Ferkel
13vollständig verbrannt und erfolgt eine Vorankündigung ebenso wie für den Polieus. - Am zwölften:
14für Zeus Machaneus drei ausgewachsene Schafböcke und ein ausgesuchtes Rind jedes
15zweite Jahr, wenn die Karneen(-Opfer) stattfinden; jedes andere Jahr drei ausgewachsene
16Schafböcke. Das opfert der Priester der Zwölfgötter, und er bereitet
17die Opfer. Diesen voran geht als Voropfer an dem gemeinsamen (Altar das), was die Phylo-
18machidai bringen: ein halber hekteus Gerstenschrot, ein Viertel Wein. Als Ehrengaben wird den Phylo-
19machidai gegeben vom Rind Huf (und) Sohle, von den Schafen das rohe (Fleisch),
20von dem der Götteranteil geschnitten wird, und - - -. An Ehrengaben nimmt der
21Priester Schenkel und Häute. - An demselben Tag: für Athene Machanis
22eine ausgesuchte junge Kuh jedes zweite Jahr, wenn die Karneen(-Opfer) stattfinden, jedes
23andere Jahr ein ausgewachsenes Schaf. Es opfert die Priesterin und besprengt mit Meer-
24wasser. Hiervon ist keine Fortnahme (erlaubt). Als Beiopfer werden der Göttin gegeben:
25vier Becher Olivenöl, ein Viertel Wein, zwei neue Kannen und drei
26neue Pokale. Für die Karneen(-Opfer) aber soll die Stadt kaufen eine junge,
27ausgesuchte Kuh von nicht weniger als fünfzig Drachmen, diese aber - - -

11Mechaneus an ox is chosen in the second year from when the Karneia happen, as
12is chosen for Zeus Polieus in Batromios, and a piglet is
13first burned, and is announced in advance as for Polieus. On the twelfth:
14to Zeus Mechaneus three adult rams and an ox selected in the
15second year from when the Karneia happen, in the alternate year the three adult
16rams; priest of the Twelve Gods sacrifices these and supplies the
17victims;  before these he sacrifices, by the public (altar) that the Phylo-
18machidai bring, a half hekteus of barley, a fourth of wine; as perquisites for the Phylo-
19machidai are given from the ox hoof (and) sole, from the rams the raw part
20from which the god’s portion is cut, and - - -; as perquisites the priest receives
21legs and skins. On the same day: of Athena Mechanis
22a select cow in the second year from when the Karneia happen,
23in the alternate year an adult ewe; priestess sacrifices and is washed with
24sea water; of these no carrying away; as supplemental offerings are given to the goddess
25four kotylai of olive oil, a fourth of wine, two new ewers and
26three new wine cups; for the Karneia the city is to purchase
27a select heifer for not less than fifty drachmas, and this - - -
