27τρεῖς, τὰν μὲν πράταν ἐμηνὶ Ἀλσείωι τῶι ἐπὶ Ἀριστοβούλου, τὰν δὲ
28δευτέραν ἐμ̣ μηνὶ Γεραστίωι τῶι μετὰ μόναρχον Ἀριστόβουλον ὅς

32πωληθήτω ὑπὸ τῶν πωλητᾶν· ὅπως δὲ ἐπιφανεστέρα ἁ ἱερωσύνα γέ–
33νηται ποτὶ̣ π̣άντα κατασκευασθέντων αὐτᾶι καὶ ἀργυρωμάτων ποτὶ
34τ̣ὰς θυσίας τὰς γινομένας καὶ ὁ δᾶμος φαίνηται προνοῶν καὶ ἐν τού̣–

5- - - und Dreißigschaft, wenn ihnen der Priester bestätigt, dass das Opfer
6ausgeführt wurde. Wenn sie aber zulosen, ohne dass zuvor bestätigt hat der Priester,
7sollen sie als Strafsumme zahlen an den teichopoias eintausend Drachmen
8bei der Rechenschaftslegung. Es sollen opfern auch der Gymnasiarch und der Festspielleiter, jeder
9von ihnen ein ausgewachsenes Opfertier von fünfundzwanzig Drachmen, wenn sie gewählt werden.
10Entsprechend sollen opfern auch die gewählten Tempel-Aufseher, die für das
11Winterhalbjahr amtierenden am neunten Theudaisios, die für das Sommerhalbjahr am vierzehnten
12Hyakinthios, jede von ihnen ein Schaf zu fünfundzwanzig Drachmen. Ebenso
13sollen opfern auch alle, die gewählt werden, wenn sie ihr Amt antreten,
14pro Opfertisch ein ausgewachsenes Opfertier von fünfundzwanzig Drachmen.
15Entsprechend sollen opfern auch die Vorsteher bei den penteterischen
16Asklepieia ein Rinderopfer von zweihundertfünfzig Drachmen.
17Der jeweilige Priester soll die Opfer auf den Altar legen allen Opfernden, denen
18ein Opfer an Homonoia laut diesem Reglement angeordnet ist. Wenn sie aber nicht opfern,
19sollen sie einerseits als Strafsumme dem Priester schulden zu gleichen Teilen dreißig Drachmen,
20und die Eintreibung soll zustehen dem Priester und jedem anderen, der die Opfer ausgeführt hat,
21wie aufgrund eines Gerichtsurteils; andererseits der Göttin zahlen eine Strafsumme von fünfzig
22Drachmen, die Eintreibung soll zugunsten des Vermögens der Göttin zustehen dem Priester und
23jedem anderen, der will, und sie soll sein zugunsten der Anschaffung des Silbergeräts. Die der
24Homonoia geopferten Opfertiere sollen alle geprüft werden durch den4 Priester und die Opferdeuter
25(auf den Wert hin), wieviel die Schatzmeister für die Opfer anweisen. Der Käufer des Priestertums
26wird den erzielten (Kaufpreis) an die Schatzmeister abzahlen in drei Raten,
27die erste im Monat Alseios unter Aristoboulos, die zweite
28im Monat Gerastios unter demjenigen, der der erste monarchos nach
29Aristoboulos sein wird, die dritte im Monat Alseios unter demselben
30 monarchos . Was er aber nicht zahlt in der vorgeschriebenen Zeit
31laut diesem Reglement, soll er doppelt schulden, und das Priestertum soll
32erneut verkauft werden durch die Poleten. Damit nun aber noch glänzender das Priestertum werde
33allenthalben, indem ihm auch Silbergerät angeschafft wird für
34die veranstalteten Opfer, und damit das Volk in sichtbarerer Weise auch darin
35Sorge trage für die Eintracht zwischen ihr und den Bürgern, sollen die Schatzmeister
36in der Abrechnung den zehnten Teil des erzielten (Kaufpreises) von dem Priestertum zurückbehalten
37und für die Anschaffung von Silbergerät verwenden, was der Architekt veranschlagen wird,
38zu welchem Zweck er auch den Kostenvoranschlag erstellen soll spätestens am zehnten des Monats
39Karneios unter Aristoboulos. Die Vorsteher sollen den Kostenvoranschlag
40einreichen in den Rat am fünfzehnten desselben Monats,
41in die Volksversammlung am sechzehnten desselben Monats. Das restliche
42Geld sollen die Schatzmeister verwenden für das, was angeordnet ist. Die amtierenden
43Vorsteher sollen am sechzehnten des Monats Alseios einen Aufseher
44für die Anschaffung des Silbergerätes wählen, die Schatzmeister aber
45diesem den bei ihnen zurückbehaltenen zehnten Teil des erzielten (Kaufpreises) von dem
46Priestertum anweisen. Wenn das vom Architekten veranschlagte und
47vom Prüfer geprüfte (Silbergerät) angeschafft worden ist, soll der Aufseher auf das
48Silbergerät schreiben: “Aus der Stadt Kos. Heiliges (Gerät) der Homonoia” und den Namen des
49Priesters mit Patronym und soll die Kaufurkunde dafür dem Priester übergeben, und über
50den Kauf des Silbers und die Anschaffung des (Geräts) und die Übergabe an den Priester und über die
51Abrechnungen (der Summen), die er sich hat anweisen lassen, soll er eine Urkunde in das
52Staatsarchiv hinterlegen; entsprechend soll auch der Priester über die Übernahme (des Silbergeräts)
53Urkunde hinterlegen, und für die Zukunft soll er vor den Logisten quittieren, wie auch für die anderen
54Priester vorgeschrieben. Die Poleten sollen verdingen, dass dieses Reglement, aufgeschrieben
55auf eine steinerne Stele, aufgestellt wird bei dem Altar der Homonoia. Wenn aber das
56Priestertum verkauft worden ist, soll der Herold sofort den Namen des Käufers ausrufen
57und für wieviel dieser das Priestertum gekauft hat. Die angefallenen Aufwendungen für das
58Opfer beim Verkauf des Priestertums und für die Weihe des Priesters und
59der Priesterin und für die Stele und die Aufzeichnung des Reglements soll
60der Käufer des Priestertums zusammen mit der ersten Rate bezahlen.

17the priest at the time is to set out the victims on the altar for all who are sacrificing
18and those ordered to sacrifice to Homonoia in keeping with this regulation; if they do not
19sacrifice, they are to owe a fine, respectively, to the priest for thirty drachmas,
20right of seizure, as though from a trial, belonging to the priest and to anyone who has performed
21the sacrifices; and to the goddess they are to pay a fine of fifty
22drachmas, right of seizure in behalf of the goddess belonging to the priest and to anyone
23who wishes and it is to be for repair of the silver vessels; the victims sacrificed to
24Homonoia are all to be assessed by the priest and such examiners
25as the treasurers have listed for the sacrifices; the buyer of the priesthood
26will make three deposits of the arrived-at price with the treasurers,
27the first in the month Alseios under Aristoboulos, the
28second in the month Gerastios under whoever comes next after monarchos
29Aristoboulos, the third in the month Alseios under the same
30monarchos; anything he does not pay at the times prescribed
31according to this regulation he is to owe double and the priesthood
32is to be resold by the poleai; so that the priesthood may become more distinguished
33in every way when silver vessels have been acquired for her for
34the sacrifices and the people may be manifest in these things too caring for
35the unanimity between her and the citizens, the treasurers are to retain
36on account one tenth of the arrived-at price of the priesthood and apply
37it to the making of silver vessels which the architect estimates,

48silver vessels: “From the city of Kos: sacred to Homonoia” and the name and patronym of the
49priest and deliver sale contract for them to the priest, and concerning the purchase of
50silver and the manufacture of the (vessels) and the transfer to the priest and concerning the
51terms that were stipulated he is to deposit an account in the public records;
52the same too the priest is to deposit concerning his receipt of them,
53and in future he is to render an account to the logistai, as is prescribed for other
54priests to do; the poletai are to contract for this regulation to be inscribed
55on a stone stele and set up beside the altar of Homonoia; when the
56priesthood has been sold, the herald is to proclaim the name of the buyer at once
57and at what price the priesthood was purchased; the cost incurred for the
58sacrifice on the occasion of the sale of the priesthood and for the inauguration of the priest and
59priestess and for the stele and the inscribing of the regulation
60is to be deposited by the buyer of the priesthood at the time of the first deposit.
