1Διοκλῆς Φιλίνου εἶπε· ἐπειδὴ τῶν βαρ–
2βάρων στρατείαν ποιησαμένων ἐπὶ
3τοὺς Ἕλλανας καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ ἱερὸν ἐν
4Δελφοῖς, ἀναγγέλλεται τὸς μὲν ἐλ–
5θόντας ἐπὶ τὸ ἱερὸν τιμωρίας τετεύ–
6χεν ὑπὸ θεοῦ καὶ ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνδρῶν
7τῶν ἐπιβοαθησάντων τῶι ἱερῶι ἐν τᾶι
8τῶν βαρβάρων ἐφόδωι, τὸ δὲ ἱερὸν διαπε–
9φυλάχθαι τε καὶ ἐπικεκοσμῆσθαι τοῖς
10<ἀ>πὸ τῶν ἐπιστρατευσάντων ὅπλοις,
11τῶν δὲ λοιπῶν τῶν στρατευσάντων
12τοὺς πλείστους ἀπολώλεν ἐν τοῖς γε–
13νομένοις ἀγῶσι ποτὶ τοὺς Ἕλλανας
14αὐτοῖς· vac. ὅπως οὖν ὁ δᾶμος φανε–
15ρὸς ἦι συναδόμενος ἐπὶ τᾶι γεγενημέ–
16ναι νίκαι τοῖς Ἕλλασι καὶ τῶι θεῶι χαρισ–
17τήρια ἀποδιδοὺς τᾶς τε ἐπιφανείας
18τᾶς γεγενημένας ἕνεκεν ἐν τοῖς περὶ
19τὸ ἱερὸν κινδύνοις καὶ τᾶς τῶν Ἑλλά–
20νων σωτηρίας, vacat ἀγαθᾶι τύχαι, δε–
21δόχθαι τῶι δάμωι, τὸν ἀρχιθέωρον καὶ
22τοὺς θεωροὺς τοὺς ἁιρημένους, ἐπεί κα
23ἀφίκωνται εἰς Δελφούς, θῦσαι τῶι Ἀπόλ–
24λωνι τῶι Πυθίωι βοῦν χρυσόκερω ὑπὲρ
25τᾶς τῶν Ἑλλάνων σωτηρίας καὶ ἐπεύ–
26χεσθαι τῶι τε δάμωι τῶι Κώιων γίνεσ–
27θαι τὰ ἀγαθὰ καὶ μεθ᾿ ὁμονοίας πολι–
28τεύεν ἐν δαμοκρατίαι, καὶ τοῖς ἐπιβοα–
29θήσασι τῶν Ἑλλάνων τῶι ἱερῶι εὖ ἦμεν
30ἐς τὸν ἀεὶ χρόνον· ποιήσασθαι δὲ θυσίαν
31καὶ τοὺς προστάτας τῶι τε Ἀπόλλωνι
32τῶι Πυθίωι καὶ τῶι Διὶ τῶι Σωτῆρι καὶ τᾶι
33Νίκαι· θυσάντω δὲ τῶν θεῶν ἑκάστωι
34ἱερεῖον τέλευν· ἐν ἇι δέ κα ἁμέραι τὰν θυ–
35σίαν ποιῶνται, ἱερὰν τὰν ἁμέραν ἦμεν καὶ
36στεφαναφορεῖν τοὺς πολίτας καὶ τοὺς
37παροίκους καὶ τὸς ἄλλος τὸς ἐνδα–
38μεῦντας ἐγ Κῶι πάντας· ὁ δὲ ἱεροκᾶρυξ
39ἀνειπάτω ὅτι ὁ δᾶμος ἱερὰν ἄγει τὰν ἁμέραν
40ἐπὶ τᾶι τῶν Ἑλλάνων σωτηρίαι καὶ νίκαι,
41τοῖς δὲ στεφαναφορήσασι λώιον καὶ ἄ–
42μεινον ἦμεν· τὰν δὲ θυσίαν ποείσθων ἐν
43τῶι μηνὶ τῶι Πανάμωι· τοὶ δὲ ταμίαι δόντω
44ἐς μὲν τὰν ἐν Δελφοῖς θυσίαν δραχμὰς
45τετρακοσίας, ἐς δὲ τὰν ἐγ Κῶι δραχμὰς
46ἑκατὸν ἑξήκοντα· τοὶ δὲ προστάται ἐπι–
47μεληθέντω ὅπως τοῖς τε θεωροῖς ἀποσ–
48ταλῆι τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ ταὶ ἐγ Κῶι θυσίαι γέ–
49νωνται· τοὶ δὲ πωληταὶ μισθωσάντω ἀ–
50ναγράψαι τὸ ψάφισμα ἐστάλαν λιθίναν
51καὶ ἀναθέμεν ἐς τὸ ἱερὸν τοῦ Ἀσκλαπιοῦ.

                

                        

1Diokles S.d. Philinos stellte den Antrag: Da, nachdem die
2Barbaren einen Feldzug unternommen hatten gegen
3die Hellenen und gegen das Heiligtum in
4Delphi, die Nachricht eintrifft, dass diese
5bei ihrem Zug gegen das Heiligtum ihre Strafe
6erhalten haben von dem Gott und von den Männern,
7die dem Heiligtum zu Hilfe gekommen waren bei dem
8Ansturm der Barbaren, dass das Heiligtum
9bewahrt geblieben ist und geschmückt mit den
10Waffen von den Angreifern,
11und dass von den übrigen Teilnehmern am Feldzug
12die meisten zugrundegegangen sind in den
13Kämpfen gegen die Hellenen;
14- damit nun das Volk
15in sichtbarer Weise an der Freude teilnimmt über den
16von den Hellenen errungenen Sieg und dem Gott
17Dankopfer abstattet für seine Epiphanie,
18die erfolgt ist während der Zeit der
19Gefahren für das Heiligtum, und für die
20Rettung der Hellenen, zu Glück und Heil!, so
21wolle beschließen das Volk: dass der Architheoros und
22die gewählten Festgesandten, sobald sie
23in Delphi ankommen, dem Apollon
24Pythios opfern einen Stier mit vergoldeten Hörnern für
25die Rettung der Hellenen und darum
26beten, dass dem Volk der Koer Gutes widerfahre
27und dass es einträchtig leben
28möge in Demokratie, und dass es denjenigen
29Hellenen, die zu Hilfe geeilt sind dem Heiligtum, gut
30ergehen möge für alle Zeit; dass ein Opfer darbringen
31auch die Vorsteher dem Apollon
32Pythios und dem Zeus Soter und der
33Nike, sie sollen opfern jedem dieser Götter
34ein ausgewachsenes Opfertier; und dass der Tag, an welchem
35sie das Opfer darbringen, ein heiliger Tag ist und
36Kränze tragen die Bürger und die
37Paröken und die übrigen, die sich in
38Kos aufhalten, alle. Der Festherold
39soll verkünden, dass das Volk den Tag als heiligen Tag begeht
40anläßlich der Rettung und des Sieges der Hellenen,
41und den Bekränzten möge es zum Vorteil und zum
42Guten gereichen. Das Opfer sollen sie darbringen in
43dem Monat Panamos. Die Schatzmeister sollen
44auszahlen für das Opfer in Delphi vierhundert
45Drachmen, für das in Kos einhundert-
46sechzig Drachmen. Die Vorsteher sollen
47dafür sorgen, dass den Festgesandten das Geld
48nachgeschickt und dass die Opfer auf Kos
49stattfinden werden. Die Poleten sollen verdingen,
50diesen Beschluss aufzuzeichnen auf eine steinerne Stele
51und zu weihen in das Heiligtum des Asklepios.

                    

                        

1Diokles son of Philinos proposed: inasmuch as, the
2barbarians having made an expedition against
3the Greeks and the temple in
4Delphi, it is reported that those who volunteered
5have brought about retribution for the temple
6through the agency of the god and of the men
7who came in aid to the temple upon the
8approach of the barbarians, and that the temple has been
9preserved and has been decorated with the
10weapons of the attackers,
11and that of the rest who attacked
12most perished in the very
13combats waged with the Greeks;
14therefore so that the people may be manifest
15sharing in rejoicing at the victory that has taken place
16by rendering thank-offerings for the Greeks and the god
17because of both the epiphany
18that occurred amid the
19dangers surroanding the temple and the
20deliverance of the Greeks, for good fortune,
21it is decreed by the people: the elected
22architheoros and theoroi, when
23they arrive at Delphi, are to sacrifice to Apollo
24Pythios an ox with gilded horns in thanks for
25the deliverance of the Greeks and to pray
26that for the people of the Coans
27good things come to be and that in consensus they
28govern themselves in democracy, and that for those
29of the Greeks who came in aid to the temple it be well
30for all time; also the prostatai are to
31make a sacrifice to Apollo
32Pythios and to Zeus Soter and
33to Nike: let them sacrifice to each of the gods
34an adult victim; on whichever day they
35perform the sacrifice, the day is to be sacred and
36the citizens and paroikoi and all those
37who reside in Cos are to wear
38crowns; the sacred herald
39is to proclaim that the people holds sacred this day
40for the deliverance and victory of the Greeks;
41for those who have worn crowns may it be better
42more propitious. They are to perform the sacrifice in
43the month Panamos; the treasurers are to give
44for the sacrifice in Delphi four handred
45drachmas, for that in Kos one handred
46sixty drachmas; the prostatai are to
47see to it to the theoroi is sent
48the money and that the sacrifices in Kos
49take place; the poletai are to contract
50to inscribe the decree on a stone stele
51and erect it in the temple of Asklepios.
